Default Windows 10 - Display remains black

Hi,

I have an Asus N76VZ laptop with Intel HD 4000 graphics and NVidia Geforce GT 650m (Optimus).

I use the laptop screen as well as a second monitor plugged in the HDMI output.

Just bought a Startech USB32HDPRO to add another monitor to use the laptop and 2 external monitors. Signal seems to go to the monitor (blue led lit instead of amber like when it is off) but the display is black.

Windows sees the monitor as active and display is extended to it.

Attached are the details from the support tool

Thanks

Hi,

Can you you disabling the Nvidia graphics card?

Usually you can do this in the BIOS or through device manager.

Thanks,
James

Thanks for your advice.

I saw no option in the BIOS to disable it. I was able to disable it using the Device Manager but then I lose the monitor that is plugged in the HDMI port of the laptop.

Any other ideas ??

Hi,

Thanks for checking that.

I've raised this internally for further investigation.

Can you confirm if disabling the Nvidia GPU did fix the blank screen (albeit rendering your directly attached screen unusable)?

Thanks,
James

Hello Thunder490,
is your problem still visible with latest 7.9M4 Release and latest NV/Intel GPU drivers?
BR,
Kuba
