Exclamation DisplayLink waking up to artifacts

Hello,

I have a colleague who purchased this to run a second monitor on his MacBook Air. The problem is after the MBA goes to sleep, the DisplayLink monitor will wake up with artifacts on the screen. The artifacts can be cleared by dragging a window over it. The device was purchased 2 months ago.

He's running OS 10.6.8 using the 1.8 driver. The DisplayLink monitor is rotated 90 degrees. So far, I've tried different USB ports, tried it on a blank account, and I wasn't able to try the 1.7 driver as I received an error trying to install it. I've uploaded two separate logs, one before and one after it happens.
