Default Old 4.1.5 version seems to interfere with new 6.2.37116 hardware

I have been using an older Ultra DVI/VGA adapter (2007) for many years at home, and recently I was trying to add a new one to my Windows XP laptop, for use in the office.

I purchased THIS ONE
http://www.compusa.com/applications/...1551&CatId=466
from CompUSA,
and even with the latest driver, DisplayLink-6.2.37116 I could not get it work.
Then I purchased another DisplayLink product, and it also did not work. The device was not recognized and did not display anything.

Worse, when I went home, my OLD USB DVI adapter ALSO did no longer work.

After a lot of trials and tribulations, uninstalling all things DisplayLink, and doing a system restore, I have now at least the OLD adapter working again with the old software.

It is c:\windows\system32\DisplayLinkGAdisp.dll
and
c:\windows\system32\DisplayLinkGAport.dll
Version 4.1.5, built by DisplayLink, Copyright 2003-2007.

What do you recommend? I DO want to buy additional DisplayLink devices, but I need them to WORK...

Regards,
Hermann

Both adapters should work at the same time with v6.2 software.

Can you post your log files with both adapters connected to the PC and v6.2 M1 software installed. This should show what the problem is.

Thanks
