Default Can't install.

Haven't been able to install these drivers on Windows 7 RC1. Both Alpha and Beta drivers return the same error:

"The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance."

Obviously, running the debug tool is useless as nothing is installed, but I ran it anyway. And the debugtool confirms it.

Although Windows System restore does show a couple of restore points that list "Installed DisplayLinkCore Software" and "Installed DisplayLinkCore Graphics" but there is no entry that can be uninstalled in the program manager.

Any ideas?
Is there something else I should provide you guys with?
Or should I just wait until Microsoft starts shipping out the retail version and try again then?

Can you cd to %temp% and delete all the files matching DL*.log

then attempt a reinstall and send us the files that match that pattern.

Thanks
Will

OK, here are the files.
The search came up with 26 files matching DL*.log.
After deleting those and trying to reinstall these two new ones were created.

One new thing to report, this time after the installer quit, Windows Program Compatibility Assistant shows up and displays the contents of the thumbnail, after which choosing cancel, Reinstall using recommended settings, or This program installed correctly makes no difference.

Thank you for following this up and the prompt reply, hopefully I followed your instructions correctly.
