I have the same problem!
The problem is really annoying and the system load so high that it is hardly usable, please fix this!

- Lenovo ThinkPad T480s
- Intel i915 chipset
- Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS
- Kernel 5.0.0-31-generic
- Displaylink driver 5.2
