same with Dynadock
I had exactly the same issue. Ethernet driver wasn’t recognized, same for the audio.
I have an ASUS N56 notebook with Dynadock U3.0. I completed the 4 steps above. It worked for both the Ethernet and the audio driver |

No love on Surface Pro for me
I am having the issue on a Surface Pro machine. Both Windows 8 and now Windows 8.1 (RTM) are showing the same signs. It shows as working "Limited Connection" (network glyph with a yellow exclamation on it). I see lights flickering on the back of the device but get no network. Attached is my diag output. Device manager shows all is good and that my drivers are up to date.

Hi,
This can happen if you are using a half duplex connection typically used by network hubs: http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=299 Can you check if this is the case? Thanks, James |

Ethernet connection of dock vanishes if connected computer goes to sleep
My company recently started trying to use Targus Universal USB 3.0 DV docking stations (with power) with some new Dell XPS 13 laptops. I'm their computer support specialist, so it's my responsibility to get the new machines up & running. I've immediately noticed problems with these docking stations, in that if the laptop "falls asleep" while connected to it, upon wakeup the Ethernet adapter is just gone. It doesn't show as disconnected, it's just simply not there anymore. Unplugging the dock from the USB and plugging it back in again does nothing to restore the Ethernet adapter. I end up having to uninstall the software/drivers, and re-install them before the Ethernet adapter in the docking station will be seen again. This is ridiculous. This is clearly a widespread issue (as seen in the Amazon reviews for the product), so why haven't problems like this been addressed yet?

Ethernet Works off and on Now
I can get the ethernet to work every time if I disconnect it from the Targus and connect it directly with my laptop. However recently though not always I can't get an internet connection when the ethernet is running through the Targus. The orange ethernet light on the Targus is lit when this is the case.

Hello, May you please create a new thread?
People from 3 years ago will receive all replies and they might not be willing anymore. You computer is connected to the Internet and can talk with google.com (ping) within 97ms. It's also connected to Microsoft.

Solution for Ethernet Connection not Detect
Device Manager > Select DisplayLink Network Connection (or similiar) > Right click to access to Properties > Advanced > Speed & Duplex > change to 100Mbps/1.0Gbps (depends on your connection cable/speed) from the default value "Auto".
This solve your problem! |
