Not good
Nope - the beta drivers do not work with cat 10.9. I have had to roll back to 10.6 drivers - from a restore point i made a while back. I have not tried 10.7 or 10.8.
System is Win7 x64, i7, 8 gb ram, ATI 5970, Samsung P2370HD 1920 x 1080, ViewSonic VA 2213wm 1920 x 1080 and IBM Thinkvision 19inch DVI 1280 x 1024. Samsung and ViewSonic are off the 5970. The ThinkVision is on the WinStar USB to DVi adapter Display Link and ATI should have a good chat about this issue. I don't want to be stuck on these catalyst drivers. I've been following this discussion for a few days now, until your post i was with mr romo thinking that islandboi was either A) and AMD employee or B)trolling lol. Anyway, Im using the lilliput usb monitor from thinkgeek and i blue screen with the atikmag.sys (or whatever) error at install around 90% complete. Ive spent the morning following the procedures posted and it happens the same every time. 10.7 works, but im a bit OCD and it bothers me to not have the most recent AMD drivers.
My specs: Ati 5870, intel i7@2.8ghz (stock), 4gig corsair ddr3 ram, patriot inferno SSD, gigabyte x58 mb, soundblaster xfi titanium. All drivers & bios are the most recent. right now my usb monitor is a glorified paperweight |

Why would an AMD / ATI employee come in here to start trouble? Doesn't make sense at all. Now if this were a NVIDIA related forum I could see that happening, but not here. DisplayLink isn't a direct competitor to AMD or NVIDIA.
Ah I see. I'll switch it out with my old HD4850 then and run it for a couple of days w/ Catalyst 10.9 and DisplayLink 5.5 beta. Last edited by Synomenon; 09-20-2010 at 10:40 PM. |
