Are you able to try the device on another system and see how it behaves there? |

I am using the 1.6b3 driver. I will look at the log this evening. I have plugged the device into a netbook running Windows 7, which caused the netbook to crash, and a PC running Windows XP, which worked fine.

You should only need the 1.6b3 driver. In this case, the driver that caused the kernel panic was com.wisair.driver, whatever that is. Can you use your DisplayLink product without installing those drivers? |

Any thoughts on how I can remove all software/drivers that Warpia required me to install and go through the process of installing whatever is necessary for the DisplayLink?
I do not have a time machine or any other back up of the entire system. The error report that appears after I plug in the usb adapter is as follows: Interval Since Last Panic Report: 168351 sec Panics Since Last Report: 1 Anonymous UUID: 606198E7-DC5F-4EF2-9D47-79E0343FF872 Fri Jan 21 19:26:38 2011 panic(cpu 0 caller 0x2aab55): Kernel trap at 0x215a86cc, type 14=page fault, registers: CR0: 0x8001003b, CR2: 0x00000000, CR3: 0x00100000, CR4: 0x00000660 EAX: 0x00000000, EBX: 0x03e6acc0, ECX: 0x00000005, EDX: 0x04413a00 CR2: 0x00000000, EBP: 0x217d3d98, ESI: 0x03e25800, EDI: 0x02d3ce00 EFL: 0x00010206, EIP: 0x215a86cc, CS: 0x00000008, DS: 0x03e20010 Error code: 0x00000000 Backtrace (CPU 0), Frame : Return Address (4 potential args on stack) 0x217d3b88 : 0x21b50c (0x5d4438 0x217d3bbc 0x223974 0x0) 0x217d3bd8 : 0x2aab55 (0x59623c 0x215a86cc 0xe 0x596406) 0x217d3cb8 : 0x2a09a8 (0x217d3cd0 0x3e167c0 0x217d3d98 0x215a86cc) 0x217d3cc8 : 0x215a86cc (0xe 0x48 0x217d0010 0x10) 0x217d3d98 : 0x220a8c52 (0x3e25800 0x3e167c0 0x3eaa3c0 0x0) 0x217d3dd8 : 0x220a92aa (0x3e25800 0x31d7600 0x220f0cb8 0x0) 0x217d3e18 : 0x53cb6e (0x3e25800 0x31d7600 0x1 0x4ffaa6) 0x217d3e78 : 0x53ada3 (0x31d7600 0x3e25800 0x3e6afa0 0x3e64880) 0x217d3f28 : 0x53b334 (0x31d7600 0x3a18e40 0x0 0x50f6a4) 0x217d3f78 : 0x53cfe3 (0x31d7600 0x8 0x217d3fac 0x1) 0x217d3fc8 : 0x2a06cc (0x3e695b0 0x0 0x2a06db 0x414db7c) Kernel Extensions in backtrace (with dependencies): com.wisair.driver.HWA(0.27.0)@0x220a6000->0x22108fff dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOUSBFamily(4.1.7)@0x21589000 dependency: com.wisair.driver.CommonWUSB(0.27.0)@0x21c6d000 com.apple.iokit.IOUSBFamily(4.1.7)@0x21589000->0x215bcfff dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(2.6)@0x1b6ee000 BSD process name corresponding to current thread: kernel_task Mac OS version: 10J567 Kernel version: Darwin Kernel Version 10.6.0: Wed Nov 10 18:13:17 PST 2010; It appears that it is not the Display Link driver causing the problem. I removed all software and drivers related to the install and then did a step by step. The Display Link driver appears to be fine, but it is the Warpia Wireless USB Manager that causes the problem. After installing the Wireless USB Manager, rebooting, and then plugging in the wireless USB the CPU crashes. Any thoughts on how to avoid this? Is there another Wireless USB Manager I can use?

Someone else had an issue with a Warpia device, but it was the Warpia driver causing it to crash, not the DisplayLink stuff. |
