Question Manually signing DL driver in UEFI

The only way I could install DisplayLink drivers on my Ubuntu 22.04 system was by disabling secure boot. Nevertheless, this is not a permanent solution, hence I still need to enable secure boot back. The driver thus needs to be signed manually in UEFI. Has anyone managed to do that? Can anyone walk me through this process please?

So here are some details as to what goes wrong during the installation of the DisplayLink driver: The script provided looks to me to be defective in that during the interactive part (where one is supposed to provide a password) the terminal window becomes unstable, jumbled, and unresponsive, so I have to kill the installation process.

Has anyone else come across this type of behavior?

And yes, I have the latest version of the script.

That is why I am looking for a way to manually sign the driver in UEFI.

Here are the details of my setup: LG Gram 17", 2021, Ubuntu 22.04.1.

DisplayLink has a knowledge base article that speaks to this topic here --> https://support.displaylink.com/know...-with-uefi-sec

For reference, all of DisplayLink's Ubuntu related KB articles are here --> https://support.displaylink.com/know...hooting-ubuntu

Thank you. I must confess that I am unable to make heads or tails of the "Ask Ubuntu" article posted under "Option 3: Sign evdi kernel module manually," hence I would appreciate if you could offer some guidance vis-a-vis the manual signing of the driver.

Perhaps a bit late and you have probably fixed it, but you can reinstall the evdi-dkms using:
Code:
sudo apt-get reinstall evdi-dkms
I hope that helps. It did for me! But it is actu1ally a reset of option 1 in https://support.displaylink.com/know...-with-uefi-sec
