Show wrong info on Win7/8...
Hi,
We want to check that is any monitor plugged at DisplayLink, but there are some different information between Windows 10 and Windows 7/8. On Windows 10, it could show correct information like the follow screenshot: ("Location" shows correct information, "VC340" is our device which integrate DisplayLink function) But on Windows 7/8, it shows wrong information like the following screenshot: (The monitor is already plugged at DisplayLink device(VC340), but "Location" shows that it plugs at desktop display card(NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT)) Is any method to show correct information on Windows 7/8? Any advice or suggestions will be appreciated, thanks! Regards, Joey |

Hi
This is a side effect of the architecture differences between our driver on Windows 10 and earlier Windows OSes. Due to the way the driver integrates into the OS on earlier OSes, DisplayLink displays will appear as attached to the built in graphics card. Thanks Wim |

Hi Wim,
Thanks for your prompt reply. Is there any method to use C/C++ code to detect that monitor is plugged at DisplayLink device? Is it possible to get product name and resolution of monitor by DisplayLink? Thanks, Joey |

Hi
No - I'm afraid we do not make a public interface available for this. Thanks Wim |
