3840x2160 Screen Paint Issue
I've a Dell XPS-13, Dell D3100 dock, DisplayPort to HDMI converter, and HDMI 2.0 cable to an LG 4K TV. The Dell XPS-13 is a dual boot Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS and Windows 10 and both OS have the latest DisplayLink drivers.
Booted into Windows 10, the selection of 3840x2160 works fine and displays properly. When booted to the Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS with displaylink-driver-1.2.65 installed, I can select 3840x2160 but the monitor displays a 1x2 view of the desktop on the LG display. Meaning the copies of the extended desktop (DVI-I-1-1:1920x1080 + eDP1:1920x1080) as a 3840x1080 area is displayed 1 across and 2 high on the DVI-I-1-1 monitor. as (DVI-I-1-1:1920x1080 + eDP1:1920x1080) (DVI-I-1-1:1920x1080 + eDP1:1920x1080) It appears the resolution goes up for the DVI-I-1-1 monitor, but the extended desktop image is at the original 3840x1080 size instead of going to a resolution of ~(5760x2160). ******************************************* I posted this and then noticed I had 6 workspaces. I removed 3 to cut it to 3 workspaces and it works fine now. Last edited by Robert_29; 12-03-2016 at 11:51 AM. Reason: Discovered error |
