Default conflict between displaylink and 10 key device

I work at a large financial institution as an I.T. contractor. we have hundreds of these things throughout the company. one of my clients complained the the monitor attached to her displaylink would occasionally blank out (disconnect) and cause the other monitors to shift sometimes flip them so that the mouse would go out one side and come in the other. also it would regularly go black halfway up the screen. after many hours of reloading drivers reimaging the entire machine replacing the entire machine, changing cables and on and on. I figured out that it was this external 10 key.

If the display was dropping off the USB bus, it woudl cause the display to blank and this in turn would make Windows reconfigure the display layout to match the currently connected displays.

What is the external 10 key? Do you mean an external 10 key keypad?
