have to open lid to connect monitors
Hi guys
I'm having an issue with my Dell dock, and for some reason I always have to open my laptop lid to reconnect to my monitors. For example, when I come home from work, my MacBook is usually closed and sleeping. If I plug it in with power and USB-C cable to connect it with my dock, nothing gotta happen. With my ThinkPad, I can simply plug it in and maybe hit the space bar for a few times on my bluetooth keyboard to activate it. And then both of my monitor (via HDMI) will light up, and Windows login will be there. However, with my MacBook, I must open the lid and login in and then wait for the monitors to have signal. This is also true if I reboot my MacBook in a clamshell mode. I must reopen the lid so that my monitor could be connected. I saw that folks have mentioned that updating firmware might solve the issue: https://displaylink.org/forum/showthread.php?t=67878 However, there does not seem to be any update for my dock from Dell at all. https://www.dell.com/support/home/en...k-3100/drivers This is my first time using a DisplayLink dock with a MacBook, and I wonder what the cause of my problem is. Is this a dock's issue? Or maybe a macOS issue? Is there any way to solve this? Should I change some system settings or something? Or maybe there are some third-party apps for this? My system info: Laptop: MacBook Air (M2, 2022) Dock: Dell D3100 macOS: 12.5.1 DisplayLink manager: 1.7.1 Thanks in advance |
