What am I doing wrong?
I'm attaching a Macbook Air 2019 to a V7.R22W02 monitor.
1) Right now I have a VGA to USB cable from the monitor with a USB-USBC adapter. I also have a DVI to USB, if that is better. 2) As far chipset drivers, firmware updates and BIOS, were you referring to the monitor or the Mac?. I think the firmware, etc. is automatic for the Mac. 4) Today I downloaded/installed /Displaylink usb graphics software for macOS (5.2.1). There’s also a newer Beta, but I did not want to test it. 5) I ran the Displaylink Software installer.pkg. The software listed a user guide weblog but it would not open 6) I restarted. 7) I opened security preferences to run the system extension. 8) I unlocked security preferences and allowed it to run. 9) I restarted. I think it was now installed. Do I need to run/start/open the software, or did the installation take care of that? 10). It was still not working so I turned on the monitor and opened Display Preferences. 11) I clicked Option, then clicked on Detect Monitor/ 12) I tried changing Resolution: Default to Scaled I selected each of the folowing: 1024x640, 1280x800, 1440x900, and 1680x x1040. 13) I tried various combinations of the power, auto and (3 horizontal lines) buttons on the monitor.14) 14) All I saw was "No Signal input” 15) I searched for display link on my Mac and only saw the uninstall option after reading (and only half comprehending) the below: 16) I never saw the application. I also went to security but Displaylink was not available in Screen Recording. 17) I’m, not sure if the below was to install the beta or not. |
