DVI to VGA. When MacBook sleeps the VGA monitor powers off with a no signal message
Hey all,
First, it's a pretty amazing experience to get three monitors working on my Macbook Air with Mavericks, so kudos to the team! That said, I have a peculiar problem for which I am clueless; maybe it requires a displaylink software update. The problem is this: I have two monitors connected to a mediasonic dock - one on HDMI and the other using a DVI to VGA converter. Now, when the mac goes to sleep, the first monitor on HDMI displays no signal and then goes to sleep mode with a message 'Power saving mode', the second however on VGA displays a 'No signal' and switches off. Both monitors are of the same brand and I have interchanged cables etc. the same behaviour continues for the one on VGA. Now, what I think is perhaps is the displaylink driver is not sending the right signal to the VGA monitor for sleep. Is that's what's going on here? Any suggestions / help? Update: This is a slow forum .. anyhow I have switched to using a HDMI cable with DVI/HDMI and that works as intended. I am guessing the VGA will always have this problem.
