"This device can perform faster"
Hi
Have a problem with my Displaylink dock station (connected to my Dell Precicion M3800). Problem: "This device can perform faster" Facts: OS: Win 7 x64 Nothing is connected to the dock station! Nothing... NO USB gadgets other than my dock station is connected to the computer. All drivers (Windows, DisplayLink, Dell etc.) are the latest How often does the issue occur? -Every time I boot my computer!!!! How do you invoke the issue? -I start my computer! How do you recover from the issue? -Still problem! Was the issue present in older versions of DisplayLink software? -Have no idea! How are you connected to the DisplayLink device? Directly or through a USB hub? -Directly (from a USB 3.0 SS on my computer) Attached is the current log from the DisplayLink support Tool How can I get rid of the annoying "This device can perform faster"-message? /Hans |

This message will appear if a USB 3.0 device (eg the docking station) is connected to a USB 2.0 port, when the computer has USB 3.0 ports available. It is a message from Windows - nothing to do with DisplayLink software.
Your logs show you have USB 3.0 in your computer: Name: Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver Provider: Intel(R) Corporation Driver Version: 2.5.3.34 Driver Date: 2013/11/18 You also have a USB 2.0 hub: Intel(R) Corporation - USB 2.0 MTT Hub I suspect you are connecting the docking station through the USB 2.0 hub, so it cannot get USB 3.0 speeds and you seeing the message. Please make sure you are connecting the dock to a USB 3.0 port. Wim |
