Intermittent Display issues Dell Docking station D3100
Hi,
Recently purchased a Dell D3100 for a Dell Vostro 14 5468 laptop. The Docking station is connected to 2 x 24 inch monitors via HDMI, and user is experiencing distorted display issues, see photo. I have performed the following troubleshooting steps; 1. Uninstalled DisplayLink (using appwiz.cpl) and installed latest version of the app from here https://www.displaylink.com/downloads 2. Updated the Laptop drivers and bios using Dell driver analysing tool. all drivers should be to date. 3. Bypassed the docking station and appears user is unable to replicate issue. The user did notice that the a higher resolution 3840x2160 is available when connecting directly to the monitor, where as the docking station only has 1920 x 1080px resolution available. Any ideas on how to resolve this? |

Hi,
Regarding the resolution - on that dock you will get max 1080p over the 2x HDMI outputs. The DisplayPort output will get you 4K. Regarding the issue. At a first glance that looks like a hardware issue. If you swap out the dock > monitor video cables for others are you able to reproduce this? Also if you lower the resoluton (to sub 1920x1090 on the monitors) do you still see this? Regards, James |

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I purchased another dock (dell universal dock d6000) and that appears to be working ok, unable to replicate the issue. Returning the other back to Amazon. |
