Display link issues with Mac
I have a Dell s2740L monitor. I use it with my mac book pro. I am also running windows 8 via parallels.
Everything was working fine for two weeks. After I took my Mac off of the dock for a few days and went to reconnect it, displaylink drivers are giving me a blue screen. I have tried many different things and am very frustrated. Anyone have any suggestions? |

I have encountered this several times.
Each time it happens, uninstalling the DisplayLink drivers, rebooting, then reinstalling (and again rebooting) seems to solve the issue. It would be great if someone from DisplayLink acknowledges that this is an issue, that sometimes, the driver just *doesn't work* and needs to be reinstalled. Or if that isn't fixable, perhaps at least allowing a "fresh uninstall/reinstall" of the driver in one step, instead of having to reboot twice. |

Any progress or better solution found?
Mine went blank again, and I'm sick of the uninstall/reboot/reinstall/reboot dance. There has to be a better way to bring my monitors back in service. |

Hi,
Blank and blue screen are likely to be two different issues. I believe the blank screen issue is the same as in http://www.displaylink.org/forum/showthread.php?t=62105 Blue screen seems to indicate a problem in the Window Server, we would need logs of when the issue is happening. The problem is likely to be being able to use the application while the Window Server is stuck! If the tool can't be run, please just send us the System Profile collected right after the issue happened. The log tool is at http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=269 You can attach the logs here or send them through http://www.displaylink.com/support/ask_question.php Thank you Carlo |
