Edge case: cannot install DisplayLink driver when C:\Users is a symlink
Hi,
This is an edge case but if it turns out to be an easy pick it would be great if it could work. On my machine (Win 7 pro 64), C:\Users is a symlink which target is a folder on another partition. Apparently this creates issues for the DisplayLink installer which crashes during installation and cannot complete it (therefore preventing the device from working properly). Installation works when automatically installing from Windows Update. When C:\Users is a normal folder everything works properly. As I said, there are probably not many people around with that config, but if it's easy to fix there would be at least one person on this planet who would be happy !! Thanks ouk |

Hello Ouk,
I've logged that under Ref 25852 - Setup.exe doesn't install with symlinked C:\Users but WU package does. At this stage, I don't know when I can schedule this, but at least it is in the system for consideration for 8.4. Thank you for the suggestion! Kind regards, Alban
