Dell D3000 and XPS 11
I have problems connecting a Dell D3000 docking station to a Dell XPS 11 laptop.
In the Device manager of windows the only device detected is a generic usb hub. This is the second D3000 unit I got from dell, the first was sent back becouse we suspected the problem to be in the hardware. I am also in contact with dell support but that is going nowhere so I thought to check here. I tried the following: The drivers supplied on the CD with the product (version 7.2) The drivers from Dell (version 7.4) And the latest drivers directly form Displaylink.com (version 7.5 M2) Before installing the different drivers I uninstalled the old ones, and ran the driver cleaner tool from this site. I installed the drivers without the dock attached. And after a reboot I attached the dock with monitor attached. In all cases only a generic usb hub appears in the device manager. I also updated all other drivers (chipset, wlan, vga, etc.) to the latest version . Can someone have a look at my logs to see if it is a software/driver problem? |

Lemon 2?
Your PC drivers are fine and any of the DisplayLink software versions should work. I am advising 7.4M2 for now.
I still suspect the hardware. Does it work intermittently? For instance, can you unplug it an re-plug it to get it to work? |

I'll try 7.4M2 on Monday. The dock never work re-plugging does not help. Maybe the second one is also broken :-( |
