I have been using the DisplayLink 4K device to allow me to have a second screen on my Dell laptop. Everthing was working perfectly.
A few days ago, Windows 10 updated and ever since then, the resolution on my second screen is so small, I cannot read the characters. Regardless of the mode (extend, duplicate, etc.) the screen is unreadably small. The drivers in my Control Panel are DisplayLink Core 7.9.1589 and DisplayLink Graphics 7.9.522. I saw that there is a 8.0 version so I downloaded it and attempted to install it but it kept saying that the drivers are already up to date. I tried uninstalling the drivers but they will not uninstall. It goes through the motions of trying to uninstall but at the end, the drivers are still there. At this point, I am having to use the laptop screen and my DisplayLink adapter is disconnected. I have attached the logs generated by your tool. Please advise! Thanks! Eric Weller |

Hi Eric,
I've created a new thread for easier trackability and so the title matches the issue. Could you please attach a picture taken of the monitors and post it? For the version things, please let me explain. You can open System_Details.txt in your attachment to follow: - There seems to be a bug on our side with the add/remove program entry. - You are using the latest published: 8.0.629 (see in the Graphics Drivers) - "DisplayLink Graphics" is deprecated in 8.0 so will not be present in new installs. - "DisplayLink Graphics" only changed versions when something changed in it so that's why it's seen as lagging compared to Core Software. We understood that was very confusing so we removed the package totally now. (It was used for branding: so it says Dell, not DisplayLink). - Windows is programmed to uninstall 7.9.1588 and 7.9.522 during the upgrade but looks like it forgot... - When Windows updated, it fetched 8.0 from Windows Update because it's critical for anniversary update and 8.0 deactivate 7.9 but cannot fully uninstall it because it can't get access rights to do it. My recommendation would be to remove to - Disconnect the Dell dock, - Remove the software from Add/Remove programs - Use the cleaner: http://support.displaylink.com/knowl...rticles/724494 - Install 8.0 M1 from http://www.displaylink.com/downloads/file?id=686 Thank you, Alban
