Macbook pro 2020 13' M1
So I have a 13' Macbook Pro M1. I currently have my laptop display working and 1 external monitor working via a USB-c hub that has an HDMI port on it. I just got a Startech HDMI to USB3 dongle which i am connecting to the Macbook with a USB-3 to USB-c adapter for a 2nd external monitor. the goal being to have my laptop screen AND two additional monitors for a total of 3 screens. The DisplayLink software recognizes the 2nd external monitor, the display preferences show the monitor and the backlight is on like it should be working, it is receiving some kind of signal, but its just black. i can go into display preferences and set the 2nd external monitor to mirror one of the other 2 and it works, at that point i have one display mirrored on two monitors and a third that is an extended display. anyone have any idea why it would be showing just black as an extended display but work as a mirrored display?
