Default USB to HDMI Adapter not workin / Nvidia Problem

Hi

I just bought an USB to HDMI Adapter 2.0 and tried to install Display Link. But at the end of the installation Desktop Window Manager keeps crashing. After that Windows Aero also dont Work anymore, and my resolution goes Down.

I tried so many different versions of the driver, but nothing works. Also tried installing driver with adapter disconnected, but as soon as I plug it in and it wants to set it up for use, DWM crashes.. If I try to navigate to device management it chrashes to.

I run Win 7 Home Prem. 64 bit 16GB Ram on a Intel Core i7-3770 @ 3.4GHz
Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti driver version 340.52

Everytime I have to restore my system to get it workin again.. Gettin frustrated

Pls help..

A little update.

After installing the driver and restarting the computer, it says that it cant find dll's, and my resolution is down to 800x600.

Hi,

As soon as the issue is seen please attach the output of this tool:
http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=269
Once downloaded, please run it and select "Gather Support Information"

When you reply please select "Manage Attachments" from the "Additional Options" section below.

From there select Upload and navigate to the output of the tool which will be in a folder called "DisplayLink Support Files" on your desktop.

Thanks,
James

Hi,

Can you try the following:

1. Disconnect your adapter
2. Uninstall DisplayLink software
3. Download and run this tool http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=297
4. Install DisplayLink software v7.6M2 from here
http://www.displaylink.com/support/sla.php?fileid=124
5. Reconnect your adapter

Thanks,
James

Hi,

So we can investigate this issue can you download the attached zip file.
Inside the zip file is a registry file which, when installed, will allow crash dumps to be created.

When you next see this issue, please check C:\CrashDumps for a file ending in .dmp and attach this file to the thread.

Thanks,
James
