right-click menu disappears quickly when right-clicking files on USB drives
DisplayLink Device: Toshiba dynadock U3.0 (PA3927U-1PRP)
DisplayLink Drivers: 7.3 M1 OS: Windows 8 Professional 64-bit This issue occurs when DisplayLink drivers are installed and a DisplayLink monitor is in use. If I right-click on a file or folder on a USB drive, the right-click menu disappears quickly (.5 - 1.5 seconds), which doesn't provide enough time to select an action. The menu disappears by itself, with no input from the user. If I right-click on a file or folder on a local drive (such as c the right-click menu will remain on-screen until I clear it. If I uninstall DisplayLink software, then the right-click works as expected for both USB-based and local files and folders. I contacted Microsoft technical support about this issue. They performed several tests on my machine and determined that the cause of this issue is the DisplayLink software. |

Hi,
Which is the USB drive connected to? A dock USB port or a PC USB port? If it is the dock USB port do you have the latest dock hub firmware programmed? You can access the firmware here: http://support.toshiba.com/support/m...eeText=3286829 Thanks, James |

Thank you for your quick reply, James!
The drives are connected to the dock USB ports. Drives connected directly to the PC do not exhibit this issue. The latest dock firmware is installed. The interesting factor: If I do not install the DisplayLink software, this issue does not occur. Once I install the DisplayLink software, the issue does occur. |

Any further thoughts on this? Continues to be an issue with 7.4M0 drivers.

I don't believe this is directly connected to our software as we don't do anything to cause this. We are a graphics driver and have no effect on disk management or other USB devices. But having our software installed will increase the USB traffic and communication to the USB drive will be intermixed with other USB traffic.
The fact it only happens if the USB drive is connected to the dock and not the PC leads me to think the problem is somewhere on the USB path between the PC USB 3.0 host controller, the USB 3.0 hub firmware (for which there is an update) and the USB 3.0 controller in the USB hard drive. Wim |

After upgrading DisplayLink drivers to version 7.5 M1, the right-click issue no longer persists.
