Should we install "DisplayLink Manager App" and "DisplayLink USB Graphics Software"?
I'm a bit confused. With Catalina and Big Sur (and beyond) should I install only the "DisplayLink Manager App" and forget about the "DisplayLink USB Graphics Software for macOS" (assuming this is the so called "legacy" driver), or should I install both?
Instructions are somehow confusing, and the download page https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/macos doesn't clearly state what is the preferred/recommended action. I currently have both installed. No alerts/messages whatsoever. But I've noticed that my CPU is hurting a lot, and some things like screenshoting with Snagit [1] can bring the machine down to its knees... I'm concerned about performance issues. I'm using a MacBook Pro (Early 2015, i7 and 16G of RAM) with two additional 28" 4K (60Hz) external monitors connected via DisplayPort from a QGeeM docking station [2] that uses the DL-6950 Chipset. The external monitors resolution are set to a scaled 1920x1080 (high-res/retina) because I can't find the 1080p option on the list (even clicking on "scaled" while holding the alt/option key) - see [3]. Any advice will be much appreciated! Thank you! Hello,
You cannot have both classic driver and App installed. You should only have one. Instructions on the installation order are under the following link: https://support.displaylink.com/know...ntroduction-in Having both installed can cause conflicts in the background. For now please uninstall the classic driver and leave the App only. Best regards, Katarzyna

Thank you! I've uninstalled and installed Manager only and everything went smooth. Tip: I've realized that if you have the login screen extensions installed as well, the Manager will not alert/disclaimer the presence of the legacy driver.
