5.1 causing huge slowdown and 'no monitor' detected.
Hi guys,
Downloaded 5.1 to upgrade from 5.01 that I was running previously with very few issues. I have two monitors set up, a Samsung 226BW and a 226CW, plugged into my Mac Air 2012 ,running latest Mojave. The 226CW monitor detects perfectly, when opening display preferences the OC tells me that it is a Samsung SyncMaster 226CW' and it chooses the correct resolution by default (1680x1050). I have this monitor plugged into the DVI port. The other monitor, the 226BW, is detected as 'No monitor', and when going into the system info, it shows as being a 23"monitor with 1280x1024 resolution. I can fix this using the scaled dropdown with the option key pressed allowing me to choose 1680x1050. The screen looks fine like this, not distortion or blur. This monitor is plugged in to the HDMI port using a DVI adapter to the monitor -I have tried a couple of adapters with no change. However, when using this option, the display is EXTREMELY slow to respond, just scrolling text in a code editor is slow and jerky, basically unusable. Reverting to 5.0.1 and the problem disappears. Any ideas? Thanks, Peter. |

Hi Peter,
Can you please update back to 5.1, connect everything as you had before, and collect some logs for analysis? Please follow the steps in the following article: https://support.displaylink.com/know...rticles/755301

I will do James, just not today, as with having to reboot each time, twice, it takes some time to get it done!
Thanks, Peter. |
