Default Dell D3100 no ethernet connection

Hi

Purchased a D3100, and using two different laptops the mouse and keyboard work fine via the docking station. But there is no Ethernet connection. There are no lights on the network link with a cable plugged in. Our network is full duplex and I have also tried the device on my home network with the same issues.
I have run the support tool and with attach the logs. Just in case its a physical issue with the device.

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

Thank you for the logs and explanation, these are both helpful.

I can see the link auto-negotiation is failing. At this stage, I believe the hardware is fine.

Do you have auto-negotiation configured on both sides? If you only have one side, then you would get a duplex mismatch.
If you are sure both are in auto-negotiation, would you please be able to try this 8.4 M2 development build? We have fixed a bug in this which was validated by a customer and ticket end user and you might be suffering from the same thing.

Kind regards,
Alban

Hi Alban

The Dev driver seems to have done the trick. Tried it on two different models of laptop and they are both now working.
(Dell latitude E5440 with windows 7) and (Dell latitiude 5285 with Windows 10 Pro)

Thank you for your help.

(Also impressed the software picked up the HDMI enabled TV in the Conference room straight away)

Excellent news, thank you for the feedback.

You can keep using that version until the next release is made.
I am currently reviewing the scope of 8.4 M2 with customers (the manufacturers of products) so it can be released it in March.

Kind regards,
Alban
