Because this was impacting my work, I reached out to Dell Support. They ran the Dell tool that saw all drivers were current. Dell Support then installed/ran "Driver Booster" from
www.iobit.com and it found 13 drivers out of date. The tool installed the drivers and the D6000 started working again.
