Hello James,

Thank you for your patience.

May you please tell me what type of DisplayLink technology device are you using? Is it a docking station or a portable monitor?

If I understood it correctly some kind of an update broke the connection. In this case I would recommend following the below steps:

Unplug your docking station/monitor and follow the below steps:

1. Download our End User Cleaner: https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/file?d=64
2. Download the newest driver (9.3M1): https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/file?id=1532
3. Unplug from the Internet
4. Run the cleaner from point 1
5. Reboot computer
6. Unplug from the Internet (make sure that you do not have Internet connection)
7. Install our driver 9.3M1
8. Connect the docking station/monitor*

This should guarantee the newest driver without any update interference. If these steps will not be enough to resolve the issue. Please follow the link in my signature and gather the logs. If you wish you may contact us via our support tool or we may stay on the forum.
