Not certain, but this problem MAY have started when updating to 11.6...

DisplayLink has taken over my Macbook's Touch Bar, asking whether to mirror displays or extend desktop. It used to pop up this message now and then, but now it is showing permanently, and is unresponsive to touch. I can't select anything or cancel it or anything. It's just stuck there. If I disconnect the docking station it goes away, and if I connect it again it comes right back.

This is a serious pain in the rear because that touch bar used to be real useful!

Your description suggests that you are using this product --> http://www.utechsmart.com/product/show/id/514/UCN3270

The manufacturer's website seems somewhat broken, so as a result there are no details listed about the product.

This product appears to be available from Amazon here --> https://www.amazon.com/UtechSmart-Di.../dp/B07PRJJNGF

Presuming that is in fact the product you are using, that product does NOT appear to be based on DisplayLink technology. As a result, DisplayLink will not be able to assist.

I would suggest contacting the manufacturer of the product directly for assistance.
