I assume that you would like to change the resolution of one of your external monitors.
If so, did you try the following?
- Navigate to ‘System Preferences… > Displays.’
- Open the ‘Optimize for…’ dropdown, and select your external display.
- Hold down the ‘Option’ key and give the ‘Scaled’ button a click.
- Select a new screen resolution from the list.
Please let me know if you were able to change the resolution of your screen with the above.
If not, please let me know what is the exact model of your device and what do you see while trying to change the resolution.
