I might be hijacking this thread in hindsight. I was referring to DL drivers and Mac OS. As it happens I have the StarTech DK30A2DH. Which should be able to render 2X 4K. Whether that translated to capability out a single DP to WUHD I don't know.

However, if I select from the available alternatives "Show all resolutions" 2048 x 1080 (HiDPI) I get a good 4K resolution/ratio taking up the whole WUHD screen, but poor scaling - items are huge. So it seems more like the OS not understanding the scale.
