Trying to get DL working on NixOs

I'm on Linux but on NixOS (not Ubuntu). I'm trying to get DisplayLink working in order to drive more displays than the limit of 4 provided by the integrated GPU on my laptop.

It also appears that my evdi version is 1.12.0. Following the instructions on the NixOS wiki, I installed the ubuntu-5.4.1 driver at this point.

I'm wondering if that driver is too old to support...

In case it's helpful, below is some info from dmesg.

I see "failed to retrieve link info, disabling eDP" and the three errors at the bottom, but I don't know what those mean or if they are...
