I'm having the same issue - using the beta...

I'm having the same issue - using the beta software which used to work really well and now nothing seems to help. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, then restarted etc.

I’m still having this issue intermittently. I can’t really figure it out. Sometimes unplugging and plugging it back in quickly works. But not for me right now.. pretty irritating.

Performance in High Sierra

It seems that most of the crippling usability issues have been solved, however the DisplayLink Manager is continually using almost 100% CPU now...

This could be a coincidence but I've noticed that after unplugging from one DisplayLink device or plugging into another, after a few system sleeps/resumes, suddenly the user CPU jumps to 99-100%...

For some reason, particularly when opening Excel 2016, the Windowserver will often crash. I've also noticed a fair bit of log spamming along these lines:

Log spamming

I've not done anything extraordinary to cause it but the DisplayLinkManager service is taking up a LOT of cpu cycles (so everything bogs down) and is spamming the logs continuously with errors:
