The DisplayLink staff is working on getting fixes merged into Xorg-Xserver.
For Ubuntu 20.04 they provide a package with a temporary fix.
Just google or search around here.

You mean DisplayLink's patched package? I'm not sure how their changes influence other packages which are built from the same source. Nevertheless, I'll add it to my PPA next to the evdi packages.

Don't know how it was in Ubuntu 18.XX, but I'm really pleased with the performance on Ubuntu 20.04 now. I'm collecting all my efforts in a Debian package, which allows to install the driver incl evdi...

Got the same 1fps thing here with Nvidia hardware. I can only assume that the OS tries to save power and trottles the GPU or the USB controllers. I tried to prevent this but no success. Any ideas...
