Multiple USB Monitors

I am currently trying to hook up a Lenovo LT1421 Wide USB monitor and a HP U160 simultaneously. Both monitors come with the display link usb adapters built in and I have checked that the usb adapters are enabled in the device manager.

Both monitors work fine when only one is plugged into my Lenovo Thinkpad laptop. However, the problem arises when I attempt to plug in the second monitor. It doesn't matter which monitor I plug in, the first monitor that was plugged in is the only monitor that will show as available to extend the desktop onto.

When the second monitor is plugged in, Windows makes the sound indicating that a device was just plugged in. However, the monitor remains black/off. I am not sure if this is a software issue (maybe the two displaylink adapters will not function together) or a hardware issue. Any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.

It's possible that there is not enough USB bus power to power both displays at the same time. You might need an externally powered USB hub to power the 2nd display.

Of course! Thank you so much. I took a look at the power output for my USB ports and was able to allocate it in a way that allowed the monitors to run simultaneously without an external power supply (thankfully). Again, thanks so much!
