Macbook Air M2 - 144hz ?

Hello,

I have issue with my external monitor achieving 144hz with DisplayLink Manager (latest and older versions)

Monitor: LG ultragear 27GL63T-B
Dock: i-tec USB 3.0 / USB-C / Thunderbolt 3 Dual Display Docking Station
DisplayLink Manager version: 1.7.1 (Build 60.129)
MacOs version: Monterey 12.5.1

I know that the display and the docking station are capable of delivering 144hz over HDMI as my older Windows laptop (Lenovo Thinkpad T570)

Things I tried:
- Upgrade to MacOS Ventura 13.0 Public Beta
- Downgrade to every version of DisplayLink manger with combination of MacOS 12 and 13
- Use DisplayPort instead of HDMI out of my docking station
- Used different USB-C cables (Thunderbolt 3 and 4) between Mac and Dock

What else I can try or do? It is possible to send a "ticket" to devs to look into it for following releases?

Oh, and one more thing attached screenshot shows in settings detecting 144hz but it feels 60hz on my eyes, ufotest prooves it.

Thank you very much for any ideas or suggestions you might have

I don't have a solution but want to add my 2017 Macbook pro has the same exact issue as you.

I'm using a Targus Universal Dock DOCK180USZ and it outputs QHD @ 144hz fine on a Windows machine but only does 60hz on my Mac, despite the Mac saying it's outputting at 144hz.

DisplayLink software v1.7
MacOS v 12.5.1
Monitor: Asus XG32VQ

Hi all,

Just update for those who is experiencing same issue.
Version 1.8.0 Alpha did not solve this issue (not that I expected that reading release notes)

I also learned that macOS does not really scale 1080p very well, so I upgraded my monitor to 1440p (27" LG ultragear 27GN880) and it looks way, way better.

Still only 60hz though, (yes with hdmi 2.0 cable) and when I connect my monitor with another dongle (usb-c to dp) I get 1440p variable refresh rate

I hope that one day there will be an update that will fix this. :)

No 144hz

I am having the exact same issue. I have the display link WL-UG69PD2 doc and the M1 2021 Macbook.

My windows laptop works perfectly outputting 144hz however the mac book is stuck at 60hz. I have tried both display port and HDMI with the same results.

Side note: my macbook gives me the option for 144hz when using HDMI and DP.

please get this issue fixed !

Officially, DisplayLink supports up to 60Hz. Windows does (sometimes) allows higher frequency, but it may not work correctly and issue may arise.
