Dual displays with M1 MacBook Pro

I have the following hardware:

Macbook Pro M1 (2020)
Kensington SD5700T thunderbolt 4 dock
BenQ PD2700U display
Apple Thunderbolt 2 display with Thunderbolt 3/USB C adapter

Each of the displays works ok alone when connected via the Kensington dock.

I would like to run a configuration with dual displays. Grateful for guidance on how I can do this - is it possible to do using DisplayLink? Do I need new hardware?

Thanks

The MacBook Pro M1 supports (without tricks) only one external monitor. You can use your existing Thunderbolt dock für the first one.

You may use a small DisplayLink adapter (e.g. https://www.amazon.com/-/de/dp/B00OD37KHG/ ) on one of the USB ports of the dock to connect the second monitor.

Drawback is, that you need to install an addtional DisplayLink driver. With this driver running you have limitations on DRM protected content, no HDR, no pivot and no electronic control of brightness etc…

But for normal office use DisplayLink is fine.

Thanks JanB. I will give that a go.

You're welcome! Maybe look for an adapter that supports 60 Hz, then the mouse will run smoother....

One more info:
If you are running your 4k monitor via DisplayLink, you will probably miss HiDPI resolutions. The current DisplayLink driver version 1.5 only offers 1920x1080 as HiDPI, but no higher resolutions like 2560x1440. But there is a workaround: https://www.displaylink.org/forum/sh...ad.php?t=68005.

As a follow-up to this thread, I face a similar issue and would like to check that this work-around would be appropriate for me as well.
I have the following hardware:

Macbook Air 2020 M1 chip
this belkin dock: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...e?ie=UTF8&th=1
one monitor with VGA input and hdmi adapter
one monitor with hdmi input

Would buying this (https://www.amazon.com/-/de/dp/B00OD37KHG/?th=1) allow me to connect to two external displays as well (using the display link driver/software?)

Thanks in advance!
