Unable to install DisplayLink on Windows 10

When I attempt to install the software I receive the following error:

"The software for DisplayLink Graphics is not supported on this operating system version. Please visit www.displaylink.com/software for an updated driver."

I have downloaded 7.9M7, 8.0M3 and 8.1M0 all with the same result.

I am running Windows 10 Enterprise, Version 1511, OS Build 10586.679

I have run the compatibility check tool (of which the installer passes initially) and it came back clear. I run the .exe with the -ignoreCompatibility switch, no change.

I was previously running an older version (unsure of version) but it was not detecting displays, only USB devices. I tried to remove it and it wouldn't remove, so I ran the clean up utility from DisplayLink which removed the installation and drivers (I see detected devices now in Device Manager which shows me the drivers were all cleaned up and removed).

The installer had the same problem before and after the removal of the old DisplayLink software, so I believe it's unrelated to the older install which is now not installed.

Does anyone have ideas on how I can install the software?

I am in the same situation of you. I don't know what I should do.

Hello, would you guys please post the logs so I can see what graphics drivers are running?
See the http://support.displaylink.com/knowl...n-issues-to-di on how to generate the advanced logs.
You are not running a recent Win 10 and, in that version, your primary graphics card vendor may have made a change of API.
Instead of transforming your computer into a blue screen generator, the installer blocks when something sounds not right so you don't lose data.

Kind regards,
Alban
