No Rotate Display Option

Running a new thunderbolt Macbook Pro, 10.6.7; neither set of drivers (1.6/1.7) gives me an option to rotate the screen connected to the USB 2.0

Any solutions would be appreciated (and if any additional information is needed, let me know)

You can try this: http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=301

I am running new 2011 Macbook Pro 15" with Mac OS X 10.6.7. I have my primary monitor running over thunderbolt/display port connection, and I'm able to see Rotate option for that monitor.

I'm running two other monitors (HP 24" and HP 20"), over two separate Plugable uga-2k-a with Display Link DL-195 chips. Neither one gives me an option to Rotate my displays. I have tried latest available drivers (27 April 2011 - 1.6) and the 1.7 beta 1 has been taken down right now due to bugs.

I have also tried Carlo's suggestion to use Command+Option keys while selecting Display options, but that doesn't work either.

Any suggestions for allowing me to rotate my displays?

Carlo's workaround did the trick for me with a 2011 Thunderbolt MBP 15" under SL 10.6.8 and DisplayLink 1.6 version.

The Cmd+Option trick doesn't work for me either:

* SL 1.6.8
* one external monitor connected through HIS MV III Adapter
* MBpro 8,1

Any ideas?

This might mean something is wrong with your setup, however, to get the option to rotate, I used an app called display rotation menu.

http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/269...-rotation-menu

once I used this to rotate my display, the option came back in display preferences, allowing me to delete display rotate as I didn't need it anymore. Hope this helps for you.

That did it! Thank you very much.

Interestingly now the 'rotation' item also show up in the display preferences.
