NO MONITOR? LED Light not on
 

I just got my uga usb 2.0 adapter.
I can see the adapter in my display properties, but it says there is no monitor attached.
The power led on the unit isn't on.
Does that mean that the unit is bad?

I can't find anything in the troubleshooting area.

probably doesnt apply to you - if I have another cable (vga, hdmi, etc) cable plugged into my monitor (even if the other end is not connected to ANYTHING else, or grounded -- ie, sitting on rubber pad), the monitor wont 'see' the adapter, but my computer will. Again, ymmv. The monitor is a Dell 24 inch (I'm not in front of it right now; I'll check if I can remember in a few days)
