Questions on Windows 10 FCU and Chrome

Can I piggyback on this thread?

I noticed a few issues probably related to DisplayLink.

The first was in Google Chrome. Some websites don't show notifications or popups (for example Jira, Confluence etc). Or rather the notifications are there, but just not displayed...
Some Chrome plugins that have drop-down menus have a different issue: when I hover with my mouse over a menu item, although my cursor is on top of it, the item below and slightly to the right appears to be targeted by the click (affected are LastPass, The Great Suspender, Google Translate...)

The second application I have issues with is LibreOffice (Writer, Calc etc). On the monitor connected to the dock, the windows are frozen, not accepting any input. If I move them to my notebook screen, I can interact just fine with them.

Do you have any idea that I should try?

My computer is a Dell Inspiron 5379 and it's coupled to a Dell D3100 USB dock. The monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster 2443 connected via DVI and with a DVI to HDMI adapter (came with the dock). I tried both HDMI ports on the dock, both USB 3 ports on my notebook.

I updated Windows to the latest version possible (1709).

I tried with the 8.4RC driver as well as the 8.3M1 and 8.3M0. There is no difference in behavior.

Hello,
I've separated. We can't really have a single thread for a version of Windows used by more than a million computers... To be useful and manageable, one thread for one subject.

Your issue with misalignement/notification is a known Chrome bug.

Often in Windows 10, the Display Settings will default to something other than 100% in the "Change the size of text, apps, and other items:". If this is set other than 100%, your alignment for the LastPass Chrome Extension will be off. Right-clicking on your Windows 10 desktop, Selecting "Display Settings", and then adjusting the size to 100% should fix the issue.

Updating Windows or DisplayLink driver won't have any effect on this as the bug is not there.

For LibreOffice, I suggest looking at the hardware acceleration options in the software.
I suspect they might wish to use OpenGL which is broken on Intel GPU drivers until Intel driver version: 15.60.0.4849. Updating Windows or DisplayLink driver won't have any effect on this as the bug is not there.
If that seems like it is the reason to you and should that driver not be available for your platform because it was blocked by your platform vendor, I invite you to contact them so they lift the block. If your platform is recent and you're taking the responsibility, you can apply the driver anyway using the manual process: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us...s-drivers.html

Kind regards,
Alban
