Chrome OS
I have heard that Display Link will be creating software for the Chrome OS. Does anybody know about this?
Thanks! |
We showed this at IDF: http://blog.laptopmag.com/displaylink-4k-over-usb-docks
However since this involves kernel modifications there is nothing we can do on our own - the OEMs need to pick up the changes we contribute. If you are keen to see this real, then pester your supplier, or if you are one, then contact our sales representatives. |
How can I contact sales representatives? Thanks

Hi,
Please contact us through this channel: http://www.displaylink.com/aboutus/contact.php Thanks, James |
Hi James,
While we await for Chrome OS people to implement kernel modifications, is there any way round this? I have two lovely display link enabled Toshiba Portable Monitors that I can't use with my Chromebook Pixel :-( The Chromebook has a mini displayport. Could I connect the chrome book to an external graphics card or dock that is display link enabled, for example, and then drive the two Toshiba screens with that? Any ideas or help would be gratefully received! And please excuse my very limited tech knowledge! |
Update?
Hi,
are there any updates on the chrome OS & displaylink project? It would be very useful. Also, since chrome OS is based on linux, does the existence of this project indicate any progress on the displaylink linux drivers? Thanks |
