Hi CPU usage with DisplayLink for Ubuntu 5.1
 

Has anyone experienced higher CPU usage with the new 5.1 driver?

My set up:

- Dell XPS 9370
- Ubuntu 18.04
- D6000 via HDMI link (DP still doesn't work :( )
- Asus XB271HK (4K monitor)

I see a constant 17-35% CPU usage by the DisplayLink process, even when nothing is really happening on screen. This causes the CPU to run hot and forces the cores to be throttled down.

With the 4.4 driver this wasn't a noticeable issue, and although the 5.1 driver appears to recognize the external monitor faster, I've downgraded to 4.4 for now as available CPU capacity is a higher priority.
