Sudden loss of display

1 Attachment(s)
I have been using my Toshiba Dynadock (U3.0) for a while with no issues. About 2 weeks ago it stopped displaying my second screen (I use a Surface Pro 4 with Windows 10).

I downloaded the latest driver (8.0.923.0) and still nothing. I have done all the usual checks (changed cables, changed from DVI to DVI to DVI x HDMI and still nothing. The monitor works if I plug it into something else.

I have been to the task bar and the displaylink icon says no displaylink devices detected.

I have attached the zip file from the support software.

Please help.

Thanks

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your patience whilst I was on holidays.
I see a driver version mismatch.
On the installation, you have 8.0 installed but not totally and the USB device drivers are still 7.9.
This is what I recommend:
1. Disconnect all devices using DisplayLink technology. I can see two (a Targus and Toshiba).
2. Do the installation clean-up as described in that article: End User Cleaner. This will remove all DisplayLink files, registry keys and all.
3. Reboot
4. Download DisplayLink USB Graphics Software for Windows 8.0 M3
5. Disconnect your computer from Internet not to get Windows Update interfering... Toshiba has not asked us to put 8.0 on Windows Update for their products.
6. Install the 8.0 you downloaded.
7. Connect the Toshiba dynadock when the installer asks for it.
8. Reboot, login and see if you've got displays working
9. Connect back to Internet.

If the issue persists, may you attach new logs so I can see the new status?
There is a manual way to change the USB device drivers, but that's a bit cumbersome.

Kind regards,
Alban
