OSX 10.6.7 is out - DO NOT UPDATE IF YOU WANT ENSURE YOUR USB VIDEO TO WORK.

I've been having issues....

DisplayLink - when will you have a new driver set to address this?

Thanks,
John

Please disregard this thread... Delete it if necessary.

The drivers were not working with the last OSX developer update (as of yesterday) however they are now working with today's release.

Sorry for the false alarm.

BTW - rotation is now also working.

These drivers stop and start working for no reason so it might not be related to the update. Generally they do more stopping than starting so you are lucky to have got it running again :-)

I just applied the 10.6.7 update to my Mac, and my DL display continues to work without problems.

All is good here as well - using AOC Monitors with Sabrent USB to DVI/VGA/HDMI adapter....

OS update issues ReadMe

Hi all,

I'm not sure (suggestions welcome) if we should delete this thread since the original report did not apply to the released version of 10.6.7.
The point is, depending on the state of your OS, in particular the disk permissions, the DL drivers might not work after an OS update.
This is quite rare but could potentially happen with any update.
If this happens the quickest thing to do is just reinstall the DL drivers.

Not so fast...Rotation not Working here...

I'm having an issue with Rotation.

This is strange. I had a 2007 Quad MacPro 2.66 with a 30" primary run from an NVDIA card and a Dell 17" Rotated display on the USB with DL adaptor 1.3b3. The rotation was fine even after updating to 10.6.7.

A week later I have a new 6-Core 3.33 MacPro, same everything except standard ATI card on the 30". The USB monitor still works, but I cannot get "Rotation" to appear in the Displays control panel for the Dell, so I can't use the monitor rotated. On the "Display" tab it just gives options for Refresh Rate--no rotation. Rotation is only available now as an option on the primary monitor.

Uninstalled/Reinstalled the driver, and ran the full gamut with Onyx, and even trashed finder.plist and systempreferences.plist and tried to replace them with my "Time Machined" ones from the old computer. No diff.

Now I am S.O.L....

 :(

Ok EDIT.

I managed to find a solution which is bizarrely hidden and obscure.

http://osxdaily.com/2010/12/28/rotat...n-orientation/

You need to hold COMMAND+OPTION down when clicking on the icon in the System Control Panels to open the displays control panel. Only then will rotation controls be enabled and visible for a secondary monitor!

This must be a new "feature" in the more recent OSX 10.6 release(s).
