8.4 Alpha Driver for Windows
 
Introduction
===============
This is the R8.4 Alpha, the first Alpha release of R8.4. It has undergone
limited system test and is suitable for alpha testing to evaluate the software.

Content
===============
DisplayLink Software Release R8.4 Alpha delivers the following features:

- Mouse cursor performance improvements on Windows Anniversary Update
onwards with product based on DL-6950 IC
- HDCP 1.x capability on DL-6xx0 IC DisplayPort output for with Windows 10
Creators Update onwards (build 15063, v1703) with platforms
(Intel 7th generation CPU + GPU) and players supporting protected content
over indirect displays
- Microsoft DCH compliance. Introduced Declarative = Universal INF.

Supported Operating Systems
==============================
This release can be installed on the following operating systems:

- Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit editions)
- Windows 8, 8.1 (32-bit and 64-bit editions)
- Windows 10 (S) (32-bit and 64-bit of Intel/AMD platforms)

Known Issues and Limitations
===============================
- 5K resolution support is not available in this release. This will be fixed in the release.
- HDCP support is broken in Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. We are currently working with Microsoft to get it fixed.

Please create a separate thread for each subject in this forum for feedback on 8.4 Alpha.
Also make sure you upload the zip file created by our Customer Support Tool so we have the information about your installation and what took place.
This Alpha version has had minimal testing and you install it at your own risks. It is not officially supported through tickets.
