Mirrors fine but "Didn't detect another display"

DELL Monitor Stand with USB3.0 Dock
Model No. MKS14b

1) Plugged in and keyboard and mouse worked fine, but no video on the monitor

2) Went to:
https://www.dell.com/support/home/en...-mks14/drivers

3) Downloaded and ran:
DisplayLink-Dock-Driver_5DF5P_WIN_10.2.7042.0_A02.EXE

Mirrors the laptop screen fine but ""Didn't dected another display" when I click detect button in the display set up.

4) Rebooted computer, rebooted monitor stand/docking, tried another USB port without success.

Laptop information:

Dell Laptop Latitude 7490
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8350U CPU @ 1.70GHz 1.90 GHz
64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Windows 10 ver 20H2

Dell Monitor Model number: P2414Hb

If I weren't getting any picture at all I would be tempted to update USB drivers, but don't want to mess around there if I don't have to.

Anyone have any ideas for me? Thanks in advance for your help.

Based on your description, it sounds like you just need to make a change within the Windows 'Display Settings' application to change the configuration from 'Duplicate' (aka mirror) to 'Extend'.

1. Please right-click on an empty space on your desktop and select the 'Display Settings' option from the menu that appears.

2. From within the Display Settings window, scroll down to the 'Multiple displays' section.

3. Click on the Multiple displays drop down box and select the option 'Extend these displays'.

4. Click the 'Keep changes' button that appears to accept the change.
