Display Link not working after updating to MacOS 13.2.1
1 Attachment(s)
Hello,
I sat down to my desk this morning to find my external monitors not working. My Mac (MBP 2021, M1) updated to MacOS 13.2.1 yesterday evening. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Display Link manager (1.8.0 Build 63.163) several times, including using 3rd party apps to completely uninstall the app and all supporting files. Has anyone else experienced this? Any workarounds? I have attached the zip from the support tool. |
Yikes! Looks like I will be holding off on the update...
|
Meet the same problem right after upgrading to macOS 13.2.1 from 13.2 too.
The DisplayLink manager cannot detect my external monitor at all.
|
Same here. My problem is that the two external monitors are always mirrored. Only one device is recognized by the system "Display", therefore extended display does not seem to be available.

This command worked for me
Once I updated to macOS Ventura, I had the same problem, I tried this... diskutil resetUserPermissions / `id -u` and that worked for me.. |

Hi, I have got the same setup as you, but never managed to get it to work. Are you using 2 Display Ports connecting Docking station and Displays? |

Which Docking station do you recommend then? Thanks |

I had the same problem, did anyone manage to solve it?

Solve by plugging in second USB connection
AOC monitor using display link stopped working after Mac software upgrade. I was able to solve the issue by plugging in the dual USB connection to the Anker dock I am using. My AOC cord has two USB connectors on one end in case the source does not put out enough of a signal. I'm now wondering if the Mac upgrade changed a power setting that now puts out less of a signal to the AOC monitor. Perhaps that is where the software solution lies.

I updated to 13.2.1 on my Macbook Air M2 this morning and have also experienced this issue since then. I have sent an email to tech support with the required details.
I ran the command mentioned in earlier posts but it made no difference for me. |
Hi everyone.
Same here: MBP M2 with Ventura 13.2.1, and with a Dell UD22 USB-C hub. If I connect two external monitors they are mirrored and the DisplayLink utility displays "no DisplayLink-enabled display detected". I already tried the permissions reset command, but unfortunately no luck so far. Any ideas on how to solve this? |
please, if any dell ud22 user manages to solve it, let us know here!!!
|
I am having similar issues. The problem goes away once I leave my laptop open. It does seem to be a power issue.

I'm postponing my upgrade of macOS to Ventura just because of this issue reported in this thread. This is my current setup, works fine: Device: MacBook Pro M1 2020 OS: macOS 12.6.3 DisplayLink manager version: 1.6.1 DisplayLink Device: Dell D6000S 2 X LG UltraFine Ergo 27UN880-B connected by DisplayPort |
Any news regarding this topic?

I just bought wavlink 13 in 1.
I have 13.2.1 in m2 pro, in my case it seams to be connected properly and display it as well, but just blinking all the time. 60hz 2560 x 1440 Not sure if this fault of OS version or my wavlink. Should I return it or keep it and wait for some updates... ? |
I have the same problem, the DisplayLink manager cannot detect my external monitor at all.

On tuesday 21st apple released 13.3 version of Ventura in beta, so hopefully we will see 13.3 soon and it will be working.

Hello,
Please ensure that you have DisplayLink powered device - so a device that has DisplayLink chip in it. typically there is a sticker with DisplayLink logo on the product itself. But you will also find this information on the manufacturers website in the product description/specifications, user guide etc. If you have non-DisplayLink product it will not show any monitors detected as the driver will have no device to connect to. Once you have confirmed that the product is powered by DisplayLink technology please ensure that you do see the docking station under the USB bus as per My DisplayLink device does not work at all when connecting on macOS X. If you do not see the device under the USB bus it is worth checking with the manufacturer's website if there are any firmware updates available. If you have further issues please contact the support team directly under: technical-enquiries@synaptics.com As each case is unique there is no one solution for each user. |

I have wavlink WL-UG69PD2-Pro there is sticker of display link and I can see it in usb bus.Attachment 4347
I have 2x 2K monitors and they are constantly blinking, I have only 2 resolution to choose. 2560 x 1440 and slighlty smaller, even when I chose experimental in options, still cannot see any other res. Is it a monitor issue, that is 2k not 4k or full hd, not sure why is it blinking like crazy. Ventura 13.3 still same problem. |

Based on your description the problem could be USB related but I will not be able to verify without logfiles. Please follow the steps in the following article that explain how to gather and report the issue to our support team: How to report macOS issues to DisplayLink. Thank you |
That link you sent is not working, but I managed to find it in previous posts.
I have sent log files in zip to provided email. I created this log file, with unpluged wavlink. Should i plug it, and run this display support tool while my screen are blinking ? |

wavlink ug69pd2 pro and DisplayLink Manager 1.8.1 build 63.180 I have m2 pro 13" and two externals 27" the same monitors, both 2K - 2556 x 1440 I will record a video with them blinking next time I will be trying to fix it. |
This is my issue since I bouth my wavlink, to be honest, I thought it is because of Ventura 13.2.1 like thopic says, but I have the same problem with 13.3 Ventura.
Besides, probably it has nothing to do with OS version. https://youtu.be/NJmvWNd7ngQ |
