Ubuntu 17.10 with Targus USB3.0 and ThinkPad T470S

Hi,
I have fresh installed Ubuntu 17.10 on ThinkPad T470S, and I've already tried both workarounds suggested here http://support.displaylink.com/knowl...ticles/1181623. I've also tried other suggestions that I've found on this forum but nothing worked, and I still can't get my second monitor to work. DisplayLink is recognized on the USB bus zoran@zoran-ThinkPad-T470s:~$ lsusb -d 17e9: Bus 002 Device 006: ID 17e9:4306 DisplayLink zoran@zoran-ThinkPad-T470s:~$ Attachment 3362 I hope you can help resolve this issue. Thanks, Zoran |
Are you running with secure boot on? In this case you'd have to sign the evdi kernel module yourself, or disable secure boot.

Hi Michal,
Thank you for your quick response. SecureBoot was turned on, but even after I turned it off, it doesn't work. At one point after computer restart, I got Ubuntu crashed due to the problem with DisplayLink. Please check attached screenshots. Attachment 3365 Attachment 3364 I also can login only on "Ubuntu Xorg" but not on "Ubuntu". I've tried uninstalling and installing again. Thanks, Zoran |
I've solved the issue by installing LinuxMint 18.3 instead of Ubuntu. It started to work immediately, and I have a picture on both my external monitors. The only issue I have now is a laggy mouse

Finally, after I installed Ubuntu 17.10 back again (though previous one was also fresh install) it started working without any workaround. I don't know why, but it looks like something was off, and having Ubuntu reinstalled have solved that. |

The big issue is the displaylink docks don't work with wayland (and I don't know when they will support wayland). |
